**Two Weeks Notice by Whitney G**

Okay, I’m going to preface this review with this: I love a good read about a boss and one of his employees. I really do. I’ve read multiple books by Whitney G, mainly her Boss/Employee story lines. I’ve read Naughty Boss, Reasonable Doubt, and Two Week Notice (with TWN being my most recent read). However when the story line seems to go the same way in a book I tend to lose interest. So it comes as no surprise that I was having déjà vu while reading Two Weeks Notice.

The timing of this book was very stretched out.  In books we always seem to see a faster paced, this is what the hero wants and he’s going to get it and get it fast. With TWN there is a lag in “getting to the good part”.  It starts like many other novels, the hero is an asshole and can’t seem to keep a certain employee until the “perfect” one comes along and is hired as his executive assistant. Eye RollThen there is a span of a few years while he continues to be an asshole, she just takes it and has no life because her job is her life 100%. Then they finally start exploring their relationship because the heroine finally has enough and tries to quit.

Overall it was an enjoyable read, even though it feels like I’ve read it before.  After I was done I went back and reread Reasonable Doubt and there were TOO many similarities for me to consider TWN a completely new storyline.  It seems like the author just recycled the story line and replaced the names with Preston and Tara, and added a few different details.  If it was written by a different author I would be seriously concerned that this was a case of plagiarism.

deja vu

**Double Down by Alessanda Torre**

Double Down AT
Supernatural Scream

Okay now that’s out of the way…

Alessandra Torre never disappoints me. I know that no matter what she puts her characters, my heart and fragile psyche through, it will always work itself out in the end. The main characters were perfect for me. Don’t get me wrong sometimes I love a book where the heroine needs the man to tell her what to do. Bell was one of my most favorite female main characters ever. She was no nonsense, didn’t need a man to help her get through life/provide for her. Dario was the perfect mix of bad boy/billionaire/dominate. He didn’t understand Bell’s need to be independent which was a fault of his. They were the perfect match for each other, his hard and unwillingness, to her power to make him bend. Torre’s side characters through this duet were powerfully written as well, and I look forward (read: hold on to hope) to reading them in their own stories. *I’m looking at you Alessandra….I need more Lance, Rick and even Laurent.*
Looking at you
I finished Even Money yesterday, and couldn’t wait to dive into Double Down to see where Bell and Dario’s story took them. Double Down was RIVETING, keeping my thoughts engaged throughout the dark and twisty events that were laid out perfectly. The pace, for me, never lagged. I was always flipping the pages faster to get to the next part of the story. Not only did you get some romance and sex, there was also an air of unpredictability and suspense throughout the whole book. It was the perfect mix of it all.

While the ending was satisfying I expected, that because this was a duet, that the ending would be wrapped up nicely in a neat little package and tidy bow. No such luck, and I should have know that with the author. While the ending left me satisfied FOR NOW, there was a pretty sizable loose end just fluttering back and forth in the wind. Sort of like that rouge hair that you can feel brushing against you, but no matter how hard you try you just can’t find it to remove it. This feeling isn’t enough to warrant a change in how I decided to rate Double Down. It wouldn’t hurt me to find out that Torre is planning on doing another book (or few) to finally tie down that fluttering loose end. *COUGH COUGH* I need more!

Overall though Double Down is a full of suspense conclusion to Alessandra Torre’s, All In Duet, that not only satisfies your need for closure but also leaves a door, not so widely, open to the possibility of additional books to smoothly finish out the story of Bell and Dario.

As Double Down is a continuation of the All In Duet Book 1, Even Money, must be read first. Advanced copy was provided by the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Hold on to your seats everyone, you’re about to have one hell of a wild ride.

Precarious by a Bella Jewel.

Oh my god, you’ve done it again! I thought I loved her when I read the Sinners MC series, but I absolutely fell in love with her again. I first was introduced to her writing in the sinners series, and because I loved that so much I dove head first into her Criminals of the Ocean series book 1 (Enslaved By The Ocean for those of you that haven’t read it yet, trust me Hendricks is just as yummy as her biker books!). As if that wasn’t enough she wrote her next MC novel, Angels in Leather and it was just as good if not better! Then Wingman came out and it’s so funny, you won’t regret reading it. It took me for a ride and my emotions went haywire with that book, not only that but you get a peek of the Sinners boys in Wingman too! Anyway my point is, she’s great amazing, and you’re really missing out on one hell of a writer of you haven’t read her books.

If you’re looking for a fluffy romance, you might want to steer clear of Precarious. But if you’re looking for a no-holds barred, gritty, sexual, “biker-mance” look no further. Beau ‘Krypt’ and Ash are my new favorite biker couple, right up there next to Deuce and Eva. Ash is my favorite kind of female, takes shit from no one and doesn’t let anybody hold her back from her dreams while still having a soft feminine side and isn’t scared of anything (except when there are mountain lions involved).

“You said there are cats. Big ones…that eat people.”

“Great. I’m probably going got walk right into the jaws of mega lion.”

And Krypt, oh god is he yummy.

The sex, oh boy. Trust me, it is oh so good to read. You’ll need a friggin’ freezing cold shower by the time you’re done!

The blurb is true, it is an epic dangerous love and I’m so happy I chose to ride along on their journey. Trust me, buy this book and read it immediately. If you don’t you are so missing out on one of the best releases this year.

Some of my favorite quotes: (Too many to post all of them, but I want to get my point across that it is an extraordinary book!)*

*Not to be confused with plagiarism, because frankly there is too much of that shit out there, and it needs to stop. Like now.

“I’ll kill you,” I cry. “Kill, slowly, with a blunt knife.  I’m going for your eyes first, I’m going to pop them out and squash them. Give me my towel.”

“Nice ass, babe.” He chuckles.

“Don’t pretend you don’t like it.  You would have loved to know I stroked over my cock last night, thinkin’ of your sweet pussy. And baby, when I came, it felt so fuckin’ good.”

“In saying that, if you’re my old lady, then you’re always goin’ to come first.” “Even if it hurts her?” He strokes his thumb over my bottom lip, staring at it.  “Even if it hurts.” “And if I’m not your old lady?” His eyes scan my face. “Then I gotta stop fuckin’ you, ’cause baby, you’re consuming me.”

…and for the hell of it, two more supernatural gifs for the road.

Disclaimer: Yes I know, lots of Supernatural GIFs but, its like the best show on earth, and if you don’t like it “You sir, can fuck off.”

New Blog Name?!?!?

Sorry for the change everyone, but I realized that when I named my blog I wasn’t in the mindset of books and ended up naming it something that wasn’t even related. So I have changed the name of my blog to incorporate books, so that people know its a book blog and will hopefully get more views this way. The only reason I want more views is so that I know people are seeing my recommendations (etc.) and so I know people are able to experience the amazing books I’ve discovered!! So I am sorry for any confusion but I hope the new name makes everything better(:

Favorite Book Boyfriends!?!

Who are your favorite guys?

Mine are Gideon, Kellan, Remy, and Simon.

I could probably name more…but then I’d be listing the guys from every book I’ve read! o.O

I would name Christian, but I’ve read so many great books and I think these guys are better than him in my book. But to each, her own. I figure many of you would pick Christan as your number one because he was your first and always will be your favorite.

So go ahead and leave your picks for your favorite book boyfriends in the comments! I want to see if there is anyone I haven’t met yet!

Feel free to post away! xoxo
